The cathedral of Mexico City was built by Hernán Cortés, over the ruins of the Temple of Quetzalcóatl (Pyramid) and with the same remains. It is said that there are tunnels connecting the churches in the center that were used during the Inquisition, although there is no evidence of this, but there is a tunnel called La Cripta de los Arzobispos.
